High-Power programmable DC Supply Systems

Advanced applications require advanced power solutions. The SM15K series power supplies are engineered for high efficiency, stability, and reliability. By combining multiple SM15K units, you can achieve a modular and scalable power system with an output current of up to 27,000 A, featuring a bidirectional constant power curve.

Modular Power System

The SM15K series enables a fully modular high-power system, scalable up to 900 kW using Master/Slave interface cards and output bus bar assembly kits. This flexible solution allows systems to be quickly assembled or disassembled, adapting effortlessly to changing power requirements.

The master unit simplifies system configuration through front panel controls, a web interface, or Ethernet connectivity. Additional interface cards can be integrated at any time, expanding the system’s functionality and connectivity.

Key Benefits of Modular Power:

  • Scalability – Expandable up to 900 kW by adding additional units.
  • Rapid Deployment – Quick assembly and disassembly in minutes.
  • Versatile Control Options – Configure via front panel, web interface, or Ethernet.
  • Seamless Connectivity – Easily extend functionality with optional interface cards.

Bidirectional Power Flow

The SM15K series features true bidirectional power flow, absorbing 100% of power and operating symmetrically across both quadrants. Voltage and current are fully programmable from zero to maximum, enabling precise control over energy flow.

With Delta’s Power Regeneration Technology, the SM15K achieves up to 95% efficiency, returning full power to the grid—eliminating the need for costly water-cooling systems.

This results in:

  • Lower operating costs
  • Reduced carbon footprint
  • Compact, energy-efficient test setups

These advantages make the SM15K high-power system an ideal solution for battery testing, renewable energy research (PV, hydrogen, fuel cells), and other high-power industrial applications.

Excellent Performance

Even as a system of multiple SM15K units delivering more power, the system maintains excellent dynamic load response, ensuring high stability and reliability in operation. Consult the data sheet of the SM15K series for more information. Equipped with advanced features such as Ethernet interface, built-in sequencer, PC control software, fine-tune settings, and sink mode, the SM15K series offers comprehensive functionality out of the box. Optional plug-and-play interfaces for master/slave operation, digital I/O, interfaces, or analog programming further enhance usability and customization options. See the data sheets of the SM15K series and Master/ Slave interface for more information.
