Long-Life DC power supply
The SM800 series consists of power supplies with excellent lifetime and stability. Multiple power supplies can be connected in series, parallel, or both in series and parallel to create numerous output configurations. Optionally, the power sink option can be ordered with this power supply to be able to dissipate up to 140 W.
In standard, the SM800 can be controlled either via the front or an analog input at the rear of the power supply. Optionally, Ethernet, RS232 or isolated remote programming features can be factory installed. See the options for more information. Furthermore, external interface modules are available to add this functionality to existing units. See the SM800 data sheet for more information.
Bench top or rack mounted
This power supply is an excellent choice for laboratory work, R&D, and long-term industrial use. It is reliable, silent, and consistently delivers top performance. The clear display and intuitive knob controls ensure effortless operation. Whether you're optimizing workflows or pushing the boundaries of research, this unit is designed to support you.
It comes standard with feet for bench-top use but can also be mounted in a 19" rack with an optional rack adapter.
High isolation voltage
The output terminals of all units, including the low voltage variants, are floating and isolated up to 600 V DC. Combined with the optional 19" mounting, the power supply can be integrated into larger systems easily. In those situations, the interlock connector can be used for system level protection measures.

Options
Optional factory installed features
High Speed Programming
Boosting programming speed 10–20 times. This option enables higher programming speed and lower output capacitance. Excellent for laser applications, fast test systems or as current source with low parallel capacitance as used in plasma chambers. For more information, download the High Speed Programming data sheet.
2-Quadrant Output: Power Sink
This option enables 2-quadrant operation. To maintain constant output voltage, regardless of the output power being positive or negative. Ideal for PWM-speed controlled DC-motors and ATE-systems. For more information, see the Power sink data sheet.
Digital Voltage and Current Setting
Digital encoders enable additional features. This option adds highly accurate digital encoders and automatic coarse or fine pitch adjustment that depend on turning speed. Additionally, this option adds the KEYLOCK function for enhanced operational safety. For more information, see the Digital Encoders data sheet.
Programming interfaces
Optional factory installed interfaces:
(Only one can be added)
- ETH2 Ethernet card incl. sequencer and web interface
- RS232 card for serial programming
- ISO-AMP isolation amplifier card to enhance analog programming isolation
Increased Output Power
Output power can optionally be increased by 10% without affecting reliability. This applies to certain models in this series that are conservatively rated by default. Either voltage or current can be increased upon request. Contact us or your local distributor to find out which units support extra output power.
Secured Voltage and Current Setting
This option physically prevents a user of changing voltage and current settings. The knobs are removed and the voltage and current settings can only be adjusted using a screwdriver. Plastic caps additionally secure settings from accidental adjustment by a user, providing maximum security. For more information, see the SM800 series data sheet. The Digital setting option is also able to provide secured settings through software disable.
Front Power Output
This option reroutes the output from the rear to the front panel (not available for SM7.5-80). For more details, see the SM800 series data sheet.
